Acro Yoga / Partner Yoga

Acro Yoga Partner

Acro Yoga — also known as Partner Yoga & Acrobatics — combines the wisdom of yoga,
the healing art of Thai Yoga Massage, and the dynamic power of acrobatics.
Together, these create a unique foundation for a playful practice that cultivates
community, trust, and communication.

Acro Yoga consists of three main elements:

Solar Acrobatics:

  • Partner & group acrobatics
  • Strength training
  • Flexibility
  • Community
  • Fun
  • Trust
  • Communication

Lunar Healing Arts:

  • Letting go & relaxation
  • Thai Yoga Massage / Flying Bodywork

Yoga Practice:

  • Warm-up Hatha Flow Yoga
  • Partner Yoga – breath & movement in harmony

Acro Yoga is a unique practice that playfully combines yoga and acrobatics.
You learn to connect your body and mind in order to approach even challenging poses
with focus, calmness, serenity, and joy.
Through practicing in community, you learn to trust yourself and others —
to communicate with kindness, laugh together, and enjoy movement.
You decide where your boundaries are and express your needs clearly,
so that you can safely, freely, and with lightness explore the art of flying, basing, and spotting.

70h Acro Aerial Acrobatic

What is aerial yoga?

70h Acro Aerial Teacher
Aerial Yoga (also known as flying yoga or similar) is a combination of traditional yoga and aerial acrobatics.
B.K.S. Iyengar already used rope constructions fixed to walls in Iyengar Yoga as supportive aids. In Aerial Yoga, we use a soft, elastic, and often colorful yoga hammock that hangs from the ceiling in a loop — similar to a hammock where both ends are attached to the same point. The yoga hammock is 3 meters wide, which makes it especially comfortable to stretch out in.
In a playful way, you can even take on poses that might be difficult for you on the ground. At the same time, your balance is especially trained, since in some exercises you need to compensate for the instability of the fabric.

Aerial Yoga is versatile and combines “flying” asanas with well-known yoga elements such as breathing and relaxation exercises.

Benefits and Effects of Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga is a full-body workout that increases strength, balance, and flexibility – all muscle groups are activated and stretched. With the support of the hammock, you can perform many asanas more easily and at the same time more intensely, making your practice even more effective.

In particular, the core muscles have to stay engaged the entire time. The nice side effect of regular practice: a flat, defined midsection.

While hanging, tension in the neck, shoulders, and back can also be released. Joints and the spine are relieved.

Aerial Yoga is also fascia training. Thanks to the compression of the fabric, you are always working on your fascia as well. Your body becomes better circulated, and your organs receive more nutrients.

Another feel-good factor: you let your body weight sink into the hammock, allow yourself to let go, and float through the air. Aerial Yoga lets you experience your body in a completely new way.

Participation requirements

The 70-hour training is designed as continuing education for yoga teachers and trainers to expand their repertoire. However, experienced movement artists, acrobats, and advanced yoga students are also welcome.

To participate in the training, prior knowledge of Acro and Aerial Yoga is required. We therefore strongly recommend that you attend Acro and Aerial Yoga classes or courses before the start of the training.

Yogaloft Allgäu provides Aerial Yoga hammocks for all participants.

For home practice, you will need your own Aerial Yoga hammock. There are numerous suppliers online. We recommend the Luftakrobatik Shop. Depending on where you want to use your hammock, you will need to adjust it to the ceiling height.

I had the privilege of taking part in the Aerial and Acro Yoga Teacher Training in Allgäu, and I am incredibly grateful for the time and experience. The three weekends were intense, educational, and beautifully organized. The teachers not only had an incredible sensitivity for the group and each individual but were also absolutely outstanding in their expertise – competent, clear, and inspiring.

Their warm and authentic nature made this training something truly special.

I would do it again at any time – an absolute heartfelt recommendation!

With all my heart, a huge thank you! ❤️
